We chose St. Marguerite d’Youville because of her title, Mother of Universal Charity, which best describes us.

We chose St. Marguerite not only because of her commitment to universal charity (it was said that no one would be turned away), her unfailing trust in God, and her optimism, especially during times of destruction (fire destroyed her hard work twice), but also because of her ability to stand against oppressive church authority (she had to choose between what her church superiors wanted her to do and what she heard God call her to do).

We have experienced one or all of these things in our lives and see her as a good role model. Above all, her unwavering faith that God has a plan motivates us not to be discouraged in the face of adversity.
