Why St. Marguerite d’Youville
We chose St. Marguerite d’Youville because of her title of Mother of
Universal Charity which best which best describes us.
Choosing St. Marguerite was not only for her universal charity stance
(it was said that no one will be turned away), and for her unfailing trust
in God and optimism especially during times of destruction (fire destroyed her
hard work 2 times), but also for her ability to stand against oppressive church
authority (she had to choose between what her church superiors wanted her to do
and what she heard God call her to do). We have experienced one or all of these
things in our lives and see her as a good role model. Above all, her unwavering
faith that God has a plan motivates us to not be discouraged in the face of adversity.
